HOW THE FLO GOT STARTED

Evenflo Plumbing was started in California by Jim Hardman in 1997. Four years later and with over 20 years of plumbing experience, Jim made the decision to uproot and move Evenflo north to the Mid-Willamette Valley. Since the move, Evenflo has grown into one of the most reputable and well-respected plumbing companies in the Valley. But how did Jim and Evenflo get to where they are today?

In September of 2001, Jim and a few of his friends were on vacation on Oahu, Hawaii. They went to Dukes Canoe Club, a popular restaurant on Waikiki beach. Jim struck up a conversation with a beautiful woman waiting in line, who would later become Mrs. Hardman. Lisa was also on vacation and was waiting to get a table outside on the beach instead of a table inside. Lisa and Jim decided to share a table and connected almost instantly. While vacationing, the 9/11 tragedy hit New York causing them to be in Hawaii an additional week.

Three months later, Jim moved to Corvallis to join Lisa and her two kids, Jordan and Sierra. A year later they were married and three years following that they had their youngest son, Caleb. When Jim first moved up to Corvallis, Evenflo Plumbing was a one man show. Jim ran the company out of their garage and they worked diligently to gain the reputation the company has today in the community. Lisa owned a hair salon with her sister Stacy Lebar while also helping Jim run the office aspect of Evenflo. Needless to say, Jim and Lisa worked very hard to grow Evenflo.

After a few years, Evenflo was able to add on two additional plumbers as well as a couple of people to answer phones and schedule appointments. They operated out of Jim and Lisa’s garage and home office until October of 2016 when they moved into their current location, a warehouse with an office building located at 6240 SW Reservoir Ave. Evenflo now employs almost 20 people and is continuing to grow.

Throughout all of the growth, Jim and Lisa have made it one of their top priorities to keep the small, family owned business feeling as well as giving back to the community that helped build Evenflo. Lisa says, “It is important to us to keep a family atmosphere. We try and make fun opportunities to enjoy all of our staff outside of the workplace. We enjoy meeting all of their families. We also try and stay involved in our community. We work hard to treat all of our staff and their families with love and respect and hope that they will take that to every job they do and every customer they meet.” Evenflo Plumbing is a proud supporter of the Corvallis High School Spartans. You can see their sponsorship board on the football field and in the basketball and football media guides. They also make charitable donations to the Corvallis Boys and Girls Club and Saint Judes Children Hospital.

As the Corvallis community continues to grow Jim and Lisa hope to continue growing Evenflo with it, providing the top rated, most reliable, and consistent plumbing services to the area while still keeping the family owned business atmosphere.
